As needed by the District, the Foundation provides funding for large-ticket items that are necessary to keep Neosho Schools on “the cutting edge” of education.  Generally, the request for such a grant comes from the District Administration, and the Foundation funds the request through a capital campaign.  Extraordinary Education Grants in the past have included the purchase of land to build a new elementary school, renovations and material improvements to the High School library, and the purchase of SmartBoards district-wide.

With the establishment of The 1842 Fund, it is the Foundation’s hope to rely less on capital campaigns for such funding and more on the interest and income from donor gifts that are kept in perpetuity, as that fund grows.
