OUR WORK

At the Neosho School District Charitable Foundation, we are passionate about enhancing the educational experience for every member of our school community. Our work focuses on providing the resources needed for cutting-edge educational programs and unique learning opportunities that go beyond the traditional curriculum. By funding innovative projects and extraordinary educational materials, we empower our educators and students to reach new heights of academic success. Our dedication to the Neosho School District drives us to continually seek out and support initiatives that make a tangible difference in the lives of our students and faculty.

Learning Enrichment Grants

Each year, the La-Z-Boy Foundation, in partnership with the Neosho School District Charitable Foundation, invests in opportunities that elevate learning across our district. During the 2024–2025 school year, we collectively awarded over $20,000 in Learning Enrichment Grants to Neosho School District staff — supporting creative classroom initiatives and innovative educational experiences. We’re especially grateful to the La-Z-Boy Foundation, La-Z-Boy Midwest, and the local La-Z-Boy employees for their continued generosity and deep commitment to our schools. Their partnership with the Charitable Foundation is a powerful example of how community collaboration can fuel student success.

Legacy Society Fund

The Legacy Society honors alumni and friends who have made a lasting commitment to the future of Neosho by including The 1842 Fund in their estate plans. Whether through a bequest in a will, a revocable living trust, or other forms of planned giving, members of the Legacy Society are helping ensure the continued growth, support, and enrichment of the Neosho School District for generations to come. These meaningful contributions leave a legacy of learning — and reflect a deep belief in the power of education to shape the future.

The 1842 Fund

Named in honor of the year Neosho established its first public school, The 1842 Fund is the Neosho School District Charitable Foundation’s endowed fund — created to ensure lasting support for generations of Wildcats to come. Established in 2011, this permanent fund preserves every gift it receives. Only the interest and income earned are used to support the Foundation’s grants, programs, and projects, making it a powerful tool for sustainable educational impact.

Scholarships

Each year, the Neosho School District Charitable Foundation proudly awards scholarships to graduating seniors, supporting their pursuit of higher education and recognizing their academic and extracurricular achievements. In May 2025, the Foundation awarded $12,000 in scholarships.

We invite specific classes, families, or community groups to consider funding a scholarship. Your partnership can make a lasting impact — providing students with the financial support they need to pursue their dreams.
