The Legacy Society is a program created for honoring and thanking alumni and friends of the Foundation who have arranged for a planned gift or bequest to The 1842 Fund in their wills or estate plans. Examples of planned gifts and bequests are: gift provision in a Last Will & Testament; gift provision through a Revocable “Living” Trust
The 1842 Fund is the Foundation’s endowed fund, named in honor of the year in which Neosho saw its first public school. Set up by the Foundation in 2011, gifts to this fund remain with the Foundation forever, and only the interest and income from those gifts can be used to fund the Foundation’s projects and grants.
As needed by the District, the Foundation provides funding for large-ticket items that are necessary to keep Neosho Schools on “the cutting edge” of education. Generally, the request for such a grant comes from the District Administration, and the Foundation funds the request through a capital campaign. Extraordinary Education Grants in the past

The Foundation awards at least one scholarship annually to graduating seniors. These funds help those that receive them to continue their education.
